... anyone other than our SZ brother SteveM, that is ...
Steve told me that Vito and the Elegants are appearing at a dinner theater there on Saturday Feb 15.
My wife,Lydia, grew up in the same neighborhood as The Elegants, and as a musician in Staten Island, I knew Vito as well ... Used to go on golf trips to Ocean City MD with his brother Frank ...
If anyone goes to see them, tell him Tony and Lydia from Staten Island said hello ...

Their claim to fame:
Then:

MUCH later:

It's amazing how one hit can be ridden for decades ... Good for them ...

Tony, I didn’t realize Vito has had a part in Goodfellas! Last night we watched The Irishman, there was a Vito Picone in that one not sure it’s “The Vito Picone?”

Not sure we’ll make it there this weekend, but if we do I’ll be sure to say my paesano Tony says high.

The original guys , I think Vito and Jimmy Moschello are the only living members.
Carmen Romano and Artie Venosa died in recent years.
Frankie Tardogno, I am not sure but I believe passed away..
The last time I ran across Vito, and same week Larry Chance of the Earls...
Wildwood a dozen years ago.

No, it has not ... If singing on the same key as the original, it's an octave lower ...
And he has ever been one of those 'hard living' guys ...

I'm 20 miles N. of the Villages. We go to these type of shows a lot. I think I have been to that one. Lots of very high quality entertainment several times a month here.....for VERY reasonable prices. Mostly tribute bands sometimes with one or more original member.

This is meant respectfully, but I am always amazed at the number of musicians of Italian ancestry. There must be a carryover of the long musical history of the country. Look at SZ itself.
